What is need of downloading data to application server?

HI Experts,

Kindly guide what is the need of downloading data to application server?(like we use open data set close data set or CG3Y/CG3Z).

Hi Sanjay,

Application server has business logic (e.g. reports) using which we need to process business data which is stored in database. Business logic read, amend and analyses business data using some business logic therefore there is a need to dump data from database/ external sourse into application server.

CG3Y or CG3Z is used to download/ upload external data from/into SAP application server so that we can process this data with the help of business logic and then store, amend or include this data into SAP database.

Application servers assist in executing business logic to process data entries stored in database.
