Customizing TLN in portal

Hi Experts,

I want to give different images for system administration, content administration, User administration in Top Level Navigation.

We can not give different images from portal display in portal.  So I need to change the code in PAR file.

How can I give different images for TLN in PAR file?

Kindly provide document for the same.
