Hello,

I am also experiecing this problem - I want to create a multisource UNX on top of BW through a relational connection (JCo) but the option is not there when creating the connection.

Can anybody help?

Thanks,

Chris

I believe your universe (unX) must be of type MULTI-SOURCE (not single-source) for relational access to SAP BW.

But remember, the recommendation is to use DIRECT access to SAP BW (via BICS) for Webi, and NOT create a universe  data.n top of SAP BW.

Hi Andreas and Raunak,

After repair installation i can able to see the SAP JCo under SAP NetWeaver BW for creating the Relational Connection.

But while creating the relational Connection, after selecting the Infoprovider i am getting an error popup as "An error occurred while trying to ping the server: Could not start JCo Server. See the trace log file 'dev_jco_rfc.trc' for more details."

Error:

[Data Federator Driver] [Server] [Connector 'testSourceConnection1419258097327'] An error occurred while trying to ping the server: Could not start JCo Server. See the trace log file 'dev_jco_rfc.trc' for more details.

Cause of Error

[Connector 'testSourceConnection1419258097327'] An error occurred while trying to ping the server: Could not start JCo Server. See the trace log file 'dev_jco_rfc.trc' for more details.

Cause of Error

An error occurred while trying to ping the server: Could not start JCo Server. See the trace log file 'dev_jco_rfc.trc' for more details.

Can you suggest what is the reason and how to solve?

try creating the OLAP connection from CMC if it fails then that will justify the connectivity issue.

If it works then then do ping or telnet from the client machine where IDT is present and then can do Hostfile entry.

Thank you Raunak,

But we have the requirement to create a .UNX universe .So we need to create a Relational Connection on Top of BW InfoProvider.(We have data in BPC NW 7.5--->SBOP BI 4.1 SP4 connectivity).

To work on the BPC 7.5 NW version and to create a Web I reports i would be requiring .UNX universe.

Please suggest.

I guess Universe created in IDT will be of .UNX extension.

can try creating for the test purpose.
