Unable to activate Multilevel categorisation schema

Dear All,

We have a schema created long back “Z_Schema” and is working fine, linked with service request. But now we have a requirement to create all together new schema for a different txn type.

Old Schema:

Created on and Valid from 03.03.2014

New Schema ‘”Y_Schema” is created on 20.12.2014 and status is active.

So how to make Y_Schema Active and not the other one....

Thank you.

Hi Sweta,

If you want to stop using another schema, please edit the schema valid to date.

Click on versions and make the changes and activate it again.

Hello maddy,

when i tried to edit the existing schema, i can not edit the dates/status, only thing which i can edit is description.

Also, i can not create a new version of the existing schema and change it, as i have already created a new schema from scratch....

Hi Sweta,

1. You need to create new schema by copying the old one.

2. While creating new schema, maintain the timing in future say for eg., 30 min

3. If you want to add new fields / delete new fields you must do it with in the time frame of 30Mins

4. This means, based on the quantum of work, you have to mention the time in future

5. The moment 30 mins are over, automatically the new schema will be activated and the old one gets de-activated.

Helllo Hari , thank  you for the response.

So does it mean that if we already have a schema assigned, we cant create a new schema from scratch? the only way is to create by copying the existing one?

Thank you

Yes Sweta, you have to copy the old one.

If you try to create new one from the scratch with same values in "application area" "Schema per application area" etc., system will through an error saying that a schema is already existing for selected values.

When you copy old one, you have option to delete what is not required and add what is required.

Hi Sweta, if I understand correctly you want to edit an existing schema.

To do so, create a new version, edit the categories and active the new version. Note that you have to update the activation date/time before activating.

Hope it helps.

I think i am in soup now

Because i have actually created a new schema from scratch..though i had already an active one assigned to Txns.

However as suggested , if i need to create a new schema, then i need to copy the existing one and change it accordingly. In my case as i have already created another one...and changed status to Active, how do i delete this?? i dont see an option to delete..or atleast make sure that the new one which i have created is not affecting the other schema?

Hi Sweta,

Are you saying that the old one and the new one, which you created, both are in active status?

However, to make the old one OR the new one in-active, go through below thread.

Also go through below thread wherein the subject is explained in a very comprehensive manner by experts.
