LSMW to update Item Usage in CMIR

Hello Experts,

We need to update Item Usage in CMIR so that it can be used in Item Category determination. But there are lot of records in Production system and we don't want to manually update CMIR for each record. Can we use LSMW to update Usage field in CMIR automatically?

Unfortunately I tend to say "LSMW is unsuitable" for customer material info records.

There is no standard batch input, no IDOC and no BAPI method, which means only recording is left.

But the CMIR is a variable list of lines per customer and there is no option to set the cursor at a certain line.

This means you would need an extra recording for each line in LSMW, which becomes even more difficult once you reached the end of page 1 have to scroll down.
