SAP GUI Upgrade

Hello All,

We are planning for the SAP GUI upgrade from version 7 to 7.x. The problem is that we have fat clients, citrix users and we can not go personally to the individual system and upgrade it. I found one solution to have SAP GUI update server. Is it a good idea to install it and how feasible it is?

I am not sure about the upgrade by making packages.

Please suggest!

Regards,

Mohit

    Hi Mohit

Simple create the bat or cmd file along with uninstall exiting version & do new version Install on end user pc's by using either SCCM or ADS scripts

In the same way we have migrated more than 2000 end user pc's in our environments

    • Hello Mohit

Sorry for going to basic but i have to clear it from every aspects as i have to take it to customer.

These old files will need to be uninstalled from the end user GUI right??

Yes, Only uninstall the existing version SAPGUI

If yes then i have to make a point for every user to delete the old files??? Do you have any standard doc? That would be really great help!

Its not required to delete the old end user configuration file, it will support with new version.

On the installation media you can find the folder \NW_7.0_Presentation_\PRES1\DOCU\

all the installation and configuration guide are available
