Import Longtext from a SAP System into HANA

Hey folks,

I'm trying to import  longtexts out of a SAP System (e.g. table "QMEL")  into my Monsoon HANA. I know that I need the tables "STXL" and "STXH", but the most challenging thing is to get the right longtext for the object. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Tim,

So you have two informations missing. First is the key that this thread can help you:

The other is the dificult to read that binary inside HANA, as we don't have all functions in hand there, we usually convert it on SLT.

On this wiki Justin Molenaur's convert this on SLT:

Thanks Fernando!

Unfortunately I cannot use SLT with my SAP Sytem. Do you any other way to get the texts into the HANA?

I was thinking about using a BAPI to provide the data through an odata service. Then the HANA can save the data with serverside javascript into the data storage. Do you think this is a achievable approach?

Best,

Tim

Hi Tim,

I've just pointed the wiki as there have a lot of discussion and suggestions around the theme. You can also create a Z table on source system and with a Z program to fill this in an converted way. Then copy this one and not source....

About your suggestion you plan to read on demand or just user NW WebService + xsjs to fill the new table?

Both options works, the "best" I think depends on the resources you have in hands and also if you need on demand or not.
