MDM Interfaces

Hi SAP Gurus,

I am trying to integrate MDM 5.5 SP02, XI 3.0 SR1, and IDES R/3 4.7 x 200 Enterprise.

1)Now for the flow of idocs I have to mention the interface names in the integration directory (As mentioned in MDM 5.5 SP03 Scenario Configuration Guide Page No.35).But the problem is that I am getting the interface names for the R/3 Business system but not for the MDM Business System. Also the Following interfaces for MDM business system are there in the integration repository along with the software component.

Please Help me .It is urgent.

Rahul,

can you give some more details on the problem? What exactly do you try in XI and what is the error message / behaviour?

As from what you describe, there could be a bunch of reasons e.g. Business System for MDM not set up with correct software components, wrong handling of XI GUI, etc..

Hi Christine,

Thanks a lot for the response!!But when i am trying to import the CRDelta.Zip file .The sld gives me the error that "Target Namespace is outdated".So i need to update the target namespace to 1.4.26.Please tell me the exact link in the service market place where i can get the latest version of the target namespace.Also from where i can check the version of target namespace in my sld.

Hi Rahul,

your problem is really XI specific, so best would be to open up a message in the XI forum with more detail (detailed error message and which steps you executed).

thanks for the reply!!

1)But tell me how can i update the CIM Content of my SLD? 2)However in the sofware catalog in the SLD when i try to create a new product it creates a new product with the name mdm 5.5 sp03 but it then asks me for various software components to be created.So tell me where can i come come to know which software component to becreated for that product.

Also i have already downloaded the mdm business content 5.5 .

Hi Rahul,

first you DO NOT NEED to create the SAP SWC for MDM. The only way to get SAP software components is by importing the CIM content.

The latest CIM content which will contain the above mentioned MDM products and components are available for download on http://service.sap.com/swdc. Refer to SAP Note 669669 "Updating the SAP Component Repository" for details on what to download and how to proceed for the update.

HI Christine,

I have already imported the XI content mdm business 5.5.But still i am not able to see the interfaces in the mdm business system in the integration directory.However i think i should configure MDM as business service in the integration directory so that i can allott various interfaces to it.Also in the sld there is only MDM 200 and not MDM 5.5.So i am also not able to allott the correct product version to my business system(MDM)

Hi Rahul,

in my SLD i've got product SAP MDM EXTENSION 5.5 with Software Component MDME SERVER 5.5. If you don't have this product, you might need to update the CIM Content of your SLD. If you have this product, assign it to your technical and business system as installed product, then you should be able to see the interfaces in the configuration. If not, you can delete the SLD cache in Integration Directory to force a reload.

Hi Christine,

Thanks for the reply!!I have applied The following settings in XI:

1)I have imported the Basis 6.20 and MDM 200 from the SLD into the Integration repository.Now i have also activated the Change List.

2) I have also mentioned MDM in the SLD as a third party system and defined it as application system and xi as the integration server

3)Now in the integration directory when i assign MDM as the business system i am not able to see the inbound and outbound interface names as defined in the integration repository.

4)Although i can see the inbound and outbound interfaces for the R/3 business system in the integration directory.

Hi Rahul,

MDM 5.5 does not make use of the MDM 200 Content. You need to import the correct content as mentioned in the config guide into XI. You can donwload this content from http://service.sap.com/swdc following path Support Packages and Patches --> SAP NetWeaver --> SAP MDM --> SAP MDM 5.5 --> XI CONTENT MDM BUSINESS 5.5.

Xi Content is always release specific, so you have to take the content which matches your MDM release.

Additionally make sure, that you have assigned the correct MDM product to the technical and business system for MDM in the SLD.
