Hello,

1.What are input controls?

Input controls are the type of filters in the reports, using which we can restrict the data same as the normal filters. Once you apply the input controls this filter will be applicable for all the visualizations and the tables present in that report. Hence they are also called as Global Filters. Where as normal filters can be applicable for only particular visualizations.

2.What is use of Input Controls?

Using the input controls you can apply filters globally for the report.

3.What is the difference between Input Controls And Filters in WebI?

Using the input controls you can apply filters globally for the report. Where as the Normal filters will act Locally.

Hope this will help you understand the basic difference.

hello,

with input controls you can define different kind of filters. Also you can define, on which objects (tables, graphs, complete report) the filter acts.

Through the different kinds of input controls you can define "from - to" filter.

for more information, look at the documentation page 280 ff

Lingaiah,

Input controls work like filters, the biggest difference is they allow you to select more than ONE value.   Input controls can also be set at Block &/or Report level.  If you users need to select more than ONE values than Input control is your choice at WebI document level.

Also keep in mind the Filter does NOT always show you need to activate it prior to using it, just like Input control you need need switch to that panel.
