BOM Selection ID

Hello Experts,

I Know that Selecting a BOM in an production order depends upon the selection ID and priority of BOM usage (Here,I am not referring to 'selecting the alternative').And,In system I saw that we assign BOM Selection ID in OPPQ and also,we give BOM application in OPL8 which directs to OS30 and there we assign a selection ID for that application.

Now,My concern is that,If we maintain different selection ID in both the places and while creating production order for the same plant and with same order type,which selection ID will the system pick??

Please help me with this,and,also kindly correct me if i went wrong somewhere as I am an amateur here.

Hi

When you assign the selection id in OPPQ for BOM selection that is for MRP run, but when you assign the BOM application to order type dependent parameters it is for BOM selection while creating production order manually,, when you convert the planned order into a production order  system doesn't read BOM and routing, it will be copied from planned order , but when you created manually it will be selected from OTDP in OPL8.

Also you can define the selection by in MRP4 selection method  and making production version mandatory in OPL8.

I believe order type specific data (OPL8) has higher priority over plant data (OPPQ)
