SAP Fiori Wave 1 Applications on SAP Fiori Client

Hi All,

We are currently supporting existing wave 1 Fiori applications.

We also have several constrains on patching the current system to the latest version of Fiori.

Is it possible to access these wave 1 Fiori applications using SAP Fiori Client on mobile devices?

If yes, are there any additional configurations we need to do on NetWeaver Gateway or the Fiori "launchpage" URL is enough?

Hi Ginwene,

You can configure web dispatcher URL (public URL) in the Fiori Client. No additional configurations required. We have implemented same.

May be your net weaver version should be >7.31 or 7.4 , which I am not sure. But yes we were able to run wave 1 applications on Fiori client.

Also if your SAP_UI component is > SP08, its better.

Recommended is always use latest UI or launchpad.

Thanks for you answering my question.

Is web dispatcher required for Fiori setup even we only plan to view/expose the applications on our internal network (VPN)?

If not required, then can I directly use my Fiori Launchpage URL for Fiori Client given the user is already connected via VPN on the mobile device?

If user is already connected to organization vpn on the mobile device, then you can connect to Fiori apps using Client

As I need to connect SAP Fiori with GRC,

is it required to have the system running over HANA to be able to configure the Web Dispatcher correctly?

Hi,

HANA is not required no.  Web Dispatcher is not a new product and has been used for 5-6 years or so?  There is a lot of material on security and Network security available on help.sap.com and SCN and a lot of options available as well.
