IT2001: Specified Subtype is Invalid

Dear Friends,

Checked below thread  with similar issue but  no solution  .  So rephrasing my issue in details:

http://scn.sap.com/thread/596305

I've created various Absence quotas in IT2006 for an employee. But when I try to apply leave in IT2001, it pops up the message: Specified Subtype is Invalid. Those subtypes have been maintained in V_T554S  When I bypass the message and proceed for creating absences it gives another error message : "Attendance/Absence type not valid for selected period" . I've checked date range for IT2006(01.01.2015 to 31.12.2015) and applied leave in Jan 2015 through IT2001.

We are using -ve Time Management only.

Regards,

Niladri

Hi Niladri,

For this at the time of absence apply through IT2001 then select the date rage and give the start and end date. Then select the subtype and click on create.

It will work.

Hi Nilardi,

Check the PSA grouping for absence type and employee's has been assigned correct PSA or not?

Thanks Sankarsan.

I've missed one PSA to which the employee belongs to

The exact IMG path  is "Time Mgmt--->Time Data Recording & Admin --> Absences---> Absence Catalog--->Personnel Subarea Grouping for Absence/Attendance types" or SM30-->V_001P_D

Now this is resolved , I was able to create quota in IT2006 and consume the same through IT2001.

Niladri

Hi Niladri,

The error is due to non assignment of PSA grouping to the PSA employee belongs to.

Please check in table->V_001P_D.

Further check in table->V_T554S whether the required absence type is created with the same PSG grouping as assigned above to the PSA of employee.

Please try this & hope your issue will be resolved as there can be no other reasons.

RK.

May be personal subgrouping is incorrect. Check T554S and V_001P_ALL

If you are getting message 'specified subtype is invalid', this means that the specified subtype is invalid? Check your subtypes for infotype 2001, obviously the subtype you are using is not maintained.

Then you mention when you 'bypass' this error??? How do you bypass an error, this is not possible?

It is not an error rather a pop up message saying- Specified subtype is invalid. Specified subtypes are properly maintained in respective tables.

Yes, but you can't bypass this. You can enter a correct subtype and proceed, but bypass with the incorrect subtype is not possible. Have you thoroughly checked yout T554?

Hi Glen,

Attaching the screen shot for pop up message. If the "Tick" button is clicked it goes to next step for creating absence quota type what I termed as bypassing.
