Hello,
We have a requirement where end-user wants to view the dashboards on Ipad.
Can anyone please suggest the Best Fit solution to design a dashboard (to view it on Ipad) from the following options so that it will be the best in visualization and overall performance (data fetching, data loading) of the dashboard..
- Option 1 - Data Source -> Universe --> Webi -> LiveOffice ---> Dashboard
- Option 2 - Data Source -> Universe --> Dashboard
- Option 3: Data Source -> Universe --> Web(optional)--> QaaWS ---> Dashboard

I would suggest you to go through the second option, using the query browser connection which higher on performance-wise. rather than having a one more tool in between.
Having said that the use webi you need to make a call whether you need to do any calculation which cannot be done of dashboard side on that case i would suggest you to go with first option.

Both BICS & QAAWS Supported on your case.
The Dashboards tool supports both the UNV and UNX formats, but with a caveat. UNX universes must be consumed through the new integrated Query Browser. However, UNV universes can only be consumed via the traditional Query as a Web Service tool. This limits you from utilizing some new features of Dashboards, such as exporting to a mobile-compatible HTML5 dashboard.Regarding the UNV & UNX universe. Please check the below link, i hope "unv" doesn't supports here, but i am not sure on this. If you are 4.0 or higher better go with "UNX".

In my opinion the best would be to get the data from scheduled webi instances so that the request does not hit the database every time
