Changing describtion in GI

Hello,

When I am doing GI MvT 201 I would like to use one material and have a possibility to change material description, but now when I want to change the material description system is trying to find material with such description not allowing me to change the descirption and leaving the same material number.

Could you please advise on it ?

    Hi,

    Please use MIGO - Goods Issue - Other; with 201 movement type. Enter the material and other details and go to material tab. Here, you can change the material description, so that system will search for similar description materials and give the pop up. You can choose required material code, which will replace the material number as well, before the document is posted.

    Please check and revert back.

    Can you tell me a reason why system will allow to change material description during a stock movement ?

    Whatever you are facing, it is a standard behavior. Here, Material description will always come from material master. When you will change the material short text, then system will take it as a search option of field MAKTX in MAKT table.
