UWL not retrieving items from back-end

Hi,

In SAP portal 7.3, we are facing issue as UWL is not retrieving items from SRM system. When I go to the System Admin and UWL configuration, if I re-register then it shows re-register successful for SRM system. So there seems to be no issue with re-registering....which also might mean there is no issue with the RFC configured in NWA.

If I go to the back-end then I am able to see the items in users inbox (approver).

Can you someone tell me what else could have gone wrong?

Hi,

Please test the RFC destination in NWA and verify if that is working fine.

You can refer the following SAP KBA to verify if the UWL Destination Service has been correctly configured:

1133821 - UWL Destination Service configuration

Let us know the outcome.

Sure, I will do that...but just a small doubt..

If there is anything wrong with the RFC connection then I think we will get an error when we re-register the system in System Admin --> UWLconfiguration...

Am I correct or it need not be?

I checked the note but this is not for 7.3 version. And more over it points at some warning message where as I am not getting sny warning message.

Hi,

It is applicable for 7.3 version as well.

It is clearly stated that From Netweaver 7.1 on, the Netweaver Administrator should be used to create RFC destination.

Can you please verify if the RFC destination is working as expected.

As far as I remember, I had also faced such an issue (tasks not appearing in UWL) long time back and it was resolved after maintaining the RFC destination using the following template: <SYSTEM ALIAS>$<UWL CONNECTOR TYPE>

Hope this helps!!!

Hi Anurag,

When I go into UWL and on the right side when click on 'Display Connection status'..it opens a small window which says..

'Problem occured while creating JCO client for destination: SRM'

So do we need to go to NWA--> Configuration-->Connectivity-->Jco RFC Provider and do some configurations there?

Hi,

Did you check if the RFC destination SAP_SRM$WebFlowConnector is maintained in NWA and whether it is working fine or not.

As I have told you, please go through the SAP KBA 1133821 for your reference.

Thanks,

Goto NWA-->Configuration -->destinations their test your RFC destination is working correctly or not and make sure you create the system$WebFlowConnector .

Above RFC name is casesensitive if you maintained diff name it will not throw any error but still you will not get the tasks

Hi Anil & Hamendra,

I understood when you say 'check your RFC' in the mentioned path. But when you say...'make sure you create the system$WebFlowConnector' .... are you referring to the UWL configuration in System Administration?

That I have it under System Administration.

But problem seems to be with the RFC in the NWA.

Can you please tell me if I have configure RFC in 'destinations' or under...

Configuration -- > Connectivity--> Jco RFC Provider

The log says...

Problem occured while creating JCO client for destination: SRM:com.sap.conn.jco.JCoException: (106) JCO_ERROR_RESOURCE: Destination SRM$WebFlowConnector does not exist

You have to create the the RFC under NWA-->Configuration--->Destionations.

Hi,

Create an RFC connection for your SRM system with destination template as Systemname(eg: SAP_SRM)$WebFlowConnector in NWA by navigating to below path.

  1. Login to NWA(http://<host>:<port>/nwa) with proper id having
    both Read/Write access.
  2. Navigate to Configuration->Security->Destinations tab

   3.  Click on ‘Create’ in order to create a new RFC destination.

   4.  Once the page loads, select ‘No’ for Load Balancing and enter the host entries
as specified in the host file. Make the necessary entries and click on ‘Next’.

   5.  Once the next screen loads, select Authentication Type as “Current User(Logon Ticket)
from the dropdown” and enter the language value as English(EN) and the Client
         Id.

    6.  The next screen will appear with some default and you don’t have to enter any values here.
Click on Finish to complete the process and exit the wizard.

UWL doesn't throw any error. It just that it doesn't pull any items from back-end.

When I re-register the system in UWL configuration under system admin then I dont get any error. It says successfully registered.

So there is no error screenshot which I can give you at this point of time.
