Manually Change Exchange Rate

Dear Friends,

This is the following requirment from the client.

All foreign currency transactions are booked at the exchange rate from National bank. The date of exchange rate needs
to be driven initially from date of invoice but able to be manually over-ridden.

Please suggest.

Regards

Sridhar

    Hello Sridhar,

To translate foreign currency amounts, the system usually uses the exchange rate you have defined in the system. You can enter exchange rates in the system for specific time periods. The system then determines the appropriate exchange rate for the translation on the posting date. If you want
to use a different exchange rate to the one for the posting date, you can enter
this manually in the document header.

Please note that exchange rates are maintained in table TCURR.

    Hi Sridhar,

We have suggested to enter the Currency rate in Herder data (next to currency) while posting the document to our client when we had this requirement. I can suggest the same. Thanks.

    Hi Sridhar,

    1. the exchange rate type being used is defaulted by the ledger settings, make sure that you use an FX type which represents the national bank rate.
    2. Alternatively, you can also restrict usage to specific document types. You can assign a separate exchange rate type in the document type configuration.
    3. In the company code settings (T-Code OBY6), there is a setting at the bottom left called "Crcy transl. for tax". Flag 1 ("Manual exchange rate entry possible") will allow for manual entry of the exchange rate used for taxation.

    Best Regards,

    Christoph
