Financial consolidation SSO with ECC user

Former Member

I am planning to use Financial consolidation 10.0.

There are Single Sign On requirements,

- SSO with ECC user ID.

- ECC does not integrate with LDAP (Active Directory)

Any way to realize SSO above environments.

Hi Koji,

BFC is based on a Windows architecture and can delegate natively authentication to AD and LDAP only.

But additionally, all EPM tools (including BFC then) is delivered with an authentification server called IPS (for Information Platform System). From a technical standpoint, IPS is the same thing as the CMS of the BI4 platform. It is used in EPM for setting up SSO between the different EPM tools.

In a purely BFC context, you do need for example IPS if you want to deploy the Extended Analytics module on top of the BFC core.

Finally, IPS (being based on the CMS code base) supports native Netweaver ABAP security (this was done in order to do SSO between BI4 and BW and ECC).

Hence, by deploying IPS on top of BFC for authentication, you'll be able to delegate authentication to ECC, and then setting up SSO between the 2.

Please refer to the doc "sbo401_ips_admin_en.pdf" where you will fined details.

Hope it helps,

Arnaud
