Microsoft Connector for SAP BW for SQL Server 2012

Dear expert,

an our customer wants to extract data from BW and write them in a SQL Server database.

The customer use SQL Server 2012: I have found that there is a Microsoft Connector for SQL Server 2008, (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd299430%28v=sql.100%29.aspx).

I need to know if it is compatible also with SQL Server 2012 or if we have to use another version. Moreover, if we can use the same, are there some difference on the configuration side?

Thank you very much.

Best regards,
Gennaro.

Hi

dummy questions for you :

- what is the underlying database of the BW system ? If it MSSQL....there might be an option to use stored procedure to retrieve the data..

- before doing that, what is the reason for that extract ? What BW can not do and MSSQL can ?

Hi Pierre,

Regarding the underlying database, I am not sure, but maybe Oracle.

We have to extract data from BW because must populate another external system for specific calculations based on the BW data.

Thank you.

Regards,

Gennaro.
