I wold liek to know whetehr the following is possible on BI 4.1

Step: 1 Upload an Excel file to repository from CMC

Step: 2 Open the file from BI BI Launchpad

Step: 3 Add one extra row of data

Step: 4 Save the File

Question is

Will it be saved to reporsitory ? That is, will the files be saved in Input FRS ?

When I open the file next time from BI Launchpad, can I see my last extra row of data updated on the Excel file ?

Can anyone using 4.1 please confirm this ?

Thanks a lot for the Response in advance.

    Hello,

    please see my answers.

    1. Yes

    2. Yes

    3. No

    4. No

You can add Excel Files to the BI Platform with 4.1. From this Excel you can Build a WebI Report directly on it without leveraging a Universen.

If you want to add rows you have to edit the Excel File local on your client and upload it again. You cant change it directly in the BI LaunchPad as you i.e. can with SAP JAM.

    Arijit,

    See response:

Step1 - Upload of any type of file is possible from Bi Launchpad or CMS. Choose Add from Local

Step2: Open of Excel is possible with client must have Excel view install on desktop

Step3: To add a row, NOT possible in browser. You need to save file locally, make changes and then replace file on BOBJ

    Step4: see above.

    Regards,

    Ajay

U can uplaod the excle to BO and do reporting on that if you have some modification in the excle file you can uplaod one again with the replace file option and then your Webi Report will automatically show the extra added row.
