Can't Access to HANA ONE via SAP Logon

Hallo,

I have an instance on AWS with an External IP.

The HANA DB run's fine (Version 7.0).

The Ports: 50013 - 50014 and 30015 and 8000 also 80 22 are in the Security Group.

When I want to Open the HANA System on SAP Logon (7.30) with Instance ID HDB oder ERP and Instance 00

it dosnt't work.

Is this a Problem of your office / network or a Problem an AWS oder on SAP?

SAP Logon is the front end program to access SAP NetWeaver systems. It's not a database client nor a webbrowser.

To access SAP HANA you'll require a database client program, such as SAP HANA Studio or a web browser to access one of the webservices provided by the SAP HANA instance.

Hi Julia,

the SAP ECC system you used actually has a full SAP NetWeaver stack which you connect to via SAP LOGON.

SAP HANA ONE on the other hand is a pure SAP HANA instance aimed at developers to try out and build their solutions.

This doesn't come with a NetWeaver so the SAP LOGON won't get you far with that one.

See, NetWeaver is the application server that is used by solutions like ECC to run on.

SAP HANA on the other hand is a database management system for the better part (although it also comes with an application server).

The Suite on HANA uses SAP HANA mostly as a database - most of the application logic and the UI is done in the NetWeaver-layer.

To say it with some crappy ASCII art:

[SAP NETWeaver]  -- accessed via ----> SAP LOGON

------ vvv uses  vvv-----

[SAP HANA] - accessed via ----> SAP HANA Studio, JDBC/ODBC
