BUS2012 Released event not triggering via standard

Hi all,

In my current system ECC 6.0. I don't see BUS2012 Released event triggered in SWEL after a PO is completely released.

The approach being used in currently is via PO enhancement where , the approvers are set in PO header custom fields.

Inorder to trigger this event have made and entry for event using SWEC tcode and in field restrictions added condition on EKKO -FRGKE as below

- 1 . EKKO_OLD (old value) = 0 (PO Blocked) AND

-2 . EKKO(new value) = 1 (PO Released )

After this entry i can see BUS2012 Released in SWEL on PO release , wanted to confirm if this is correct approach ??

Would be grateful if could get replies at the earliest

If you are getting the event with your method, then I would say that your approach is correct. Triggering an event and/or workflow through change document configuration (SWEC) is completely valid option.

Another option could be finding a user-exit / BADI / enhancement stop and then from there trigger the event via SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT function. Requires of course a bit of coding.

A bit strange thing is that if the standard doesn't trigger the Released event when the PO is released, when is it then triggered? Are you missing some needed configuration for the PO releasing stuff in SPRO? Probably not (I am just speculating), but just make sure that the Released event is not getting triggered by standard in some other situation and thus making your current solution invalid.

    Kind regards,

I'm actually having this same exact issue right now. There is some standard workflow functionality integrated with Purchase Order Release Procedures that can be configured in SPRO.

MM -> Purchasing -> Purchase Order -> Release Procedure -> Define Release Procedure: Workflow

But it seems like its more for role resolution/agent determination. Very surprising that there doesn't appear to be a standard way of triggering the 'RELEASED' event.

    • Hi Alex,

Yes its strange. After going a bit search over net and consulting a few got to know that that in standard case (without config) a standard FM explicitly triggers the RELEASED event in the system.

Mine is a custom case where i have to set value of CEKKO in an exit and based on that value release strategy is set and approvers approve the release code. I am currently following SWEC approach to trigger it in the way i mentioned in my query and its working.

Incase you get to know some other information on this please let me know as well.
