Obtaining the current role from WD

Hi all,

Is it possible to know from within a WD application in which (portal) role I'm in right now?

Is it possible to know the name of the current workset/page/iView?

Please don't offer us to send a parameter from the iView because we want to obtain this info from a different iView.

Thanks for your help. Adi

I think "No".

But you can check whether the user has a permission for a particular role or not.

Pls look at /people/sap.user72/blog/2005/06/05/user-management-api-in-webdynpro

Hi, Adi!

There' s the

com.sap.tc.webdynpro.service.sal.um.api.IWDClientUser,

which offers methods to access UME-data.

Hi Tomas,

Thanks for your answer.

I checked IWDClientUser but I don't think I can get the current role from it.

Do you know of a way to do so?

Thanks, Adi.
