Online Deployment - Server0 Process doesn't start

Former Member

Hello

when i try to deploy SCA files via SDM Gui the Server0 process stops and there is no way to start it again. This also happens when i try to apply a SupportPackage. Reboot the machine takes no effect. There is no expressive errorlog in all the logfiles.

How can i manually start the process (jcmon doesn't, in SAPMMC jcontrol process does appear) - why cant SDM start the process?

Hi Dominik,

Could it be that your Server0 is running out of memory?

I see that your Max. Heap Size (-Xmx) is 'only' 256MB. For patching you need a minimum of 384MB. A better value would be 512MB.

I also see the following message:

#

  1. An unexpected error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine:

#

  1. EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION (0xc0000005) at pc=0x7c8120d0, pid=6020, tid=5272

#

  1. Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM (1.4.2_10-b03 mixed mode)

  2. Problematic frame:

  3. C [ntdll.dll+0x120d0]

#

  1. An error report file with more information is saved as hs_err_pid6020.log

#

  1. If you would like to submit a bug report, please visit:

  2. http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport/crash.jsp

This tells me that your jvm died. Maybe on the SAP Service Marketplace or on the SUN site this error is known. Also the file hs_err_pid6020.log could give you more error messages.

Happy holidays,

Hay

Hi Dominik,

I have a similar kind of problem, i have checked your reply stating that one needs to clear the apps folder in the link "D:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS01\j2ee\cluster\server0"

Can you please elaborate what do you mean by "clear"? Does it mean delete the sap.com and com.adobe folders?

Awaiting your reply.

thank you!

Hi

I solved the problem but i dont know why.

I just had to clear the usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps folder and everything was fine.

Are you sure it's not starting. The full startup of the server0 process migt take a while due to the synchronisation of the database with the filesystem.

Hello

Yes, i'm sure it#s not starting. in jcmon i can see that the state changes from "Waiting for start" to "Starting" 3 times and then it's "Stopped"
