Agentry Regular Client data on Windows Mobile

Experts,

I have the "Regular client" (not encrypted) on a Windows Mobile device.  This is running SMP 3.0, so the client on the device is Agentry v7 (7.0.5, to be more specific).

The object data created locally on the device (I believe) is created and stored in the OBJECTS.xyz (where "xyz" is "DAT", "NFM", "PPI", and "PUI").

My question is this.  I can pull these OBJECTS.xyz files off the device into my PC.  Is there a DB utility program that will allow me to examine the contents of the data in these files?  If so, what utility or how do I view the data?  Also, is it just the "DAT" file I would need to examine?

Thanks,

Ed

Ed,

While you could copy the files to a PC there is no utility for viewing the contents of these files.  Those are "internal" file structures of the Agentry client and not intended for viewing / use by any other application.

Unfortunately due to the way WinCE files are created and encoded it make reading them by default on a PC difficult.

My question back is what are you looking to accomplish with these files?

Bill,

I have a device that has a GPS chip in it and I need to verify that the data in the transaction is being pulled correctly from the GPS chip and exactly what the data looks like (values).

Thanks,

I saw your other post.  I would suggest just creating simple sample app to display the value on a transaction screen as a quick test.

Bill,

The other post regarding GPS not working is why I wanted to view the data.  My app (again, stated in the other posting) does display the GPS data.  So this particular issue is no longer relevant for my issue -- however the other one is.

Thanks,

  Ed
