MASS transaction - Customer master update - field not a valid input field

Hello Everyone,

We are trying to use the MASS transaction to block a large number of customer records at one go. However, we are facing an error when we do it on the production environment.

The system returns an informational message, "Field KNA1-FAKSD is not a valid input field," and the blocks are not updated to the master record.

However, the same transaction works without any message successfully on our quality environment.

The user role authorizations are similar on both environments.

The long text provides the following information:

Diagnosis

A transaction is processed using batch input.

System Response

The runtime error field xxx occurs (invalid entries)

Procedure

Correct the batch input data. Depending on the processing scenario, this can
affect either of the following objects:

Batch input session
CATT
procedure
Application program

Does this mean we have to use CATT or LSMW or is there some other authorization issue ?

Has any of you faced such an issue and if so could you please let me know the resolution?

Cheers,

MRI

Ensure that the said field is not greyed out in XD02 in which case, system will pop up this message when you try to input some value via MASS transaction

Hello both,

I have checked the settings in my PRD with respect to Quality and as suggested, the XD02 fields are greyed out.

I have requested for access from my security team.

Thank you for your help.

Cheers,

MRI

Hi

If this works fine in QAS then it means no need to go for CATT or LSMW. It must word using MASS in PRD.

Have you checked in XD05 using one customer in PRD environment? Try to block a single customer so that you can get to know whether system is allowing it or not? Test this and update.

Please check below link and response by Mark Chalfen

Thank you for the quick reply, Moazzam. I did try that, which was one I got the error in PRD. I will also check with the Basis guys on SCC4 as suggested in your reference thread.
