ST06 - how it works in distributed system installation?

Hi community,

I have a doubt about the transaction ST06. We have a SAP ECC 6.06 with SAP Component: 7.31 and Kernel release 721 SP 201, our installation is distributed system, the Application server installed on server and Database server installed in another server.

When I call the transaction ST06 and I can see only Application Server, the Database Server doesn´t appear. Are there some procedure to add the database server in this transaction ST06? I know there is the transaction DBACOCKPIT for database server, but it don´t show the same information which ST06.

Best regards,

Djeane

Hello Eduardo,

please  check if SAPOSCOL the latest one: 721 ( #2179798)
What should be monitored ? a singel DB? is it runing on a remot host not on the same host where tr.ST06 was called?

What kind of agent is used? See KBA:
2164753 - CCMS MOnitoring of non-SAP Server

Hello Djeane,

If the SAPHOSTAGENT is running on the DB server, then it starts and controls saposcol. In the sapstartsrv of the SAPHOSTAGENT an

inegrated sapccmsr agent is running. To see the OS data in ST06 in the R/3 system and to get data in DB12, you will need to deactivate this

inegrated sapccmsr agent and install a classical sapccmsr agent on the DB server.

KBA:

#1952392 - Registration of an agent installed on a DB server under of corresponding system

#1068204 -  New monitor template for database monitoring

If the DB server runs on the same host as the ABAP instance, the

SAPLOCALHOST and SAPDBHOST and OS hostname value should be the same.

#444947 - CCMS agents: Problems on database host

#1893490 - Missing OS data from standalone DB host in OS07, OS07N, ST06, ST06N

If a database is installed on a remote server than the SAPLOCALHOST parameter should be maintained correctly in the agent profile, the value

for this parameter should be exactly the same as the SAPDBHOST parameter value in the instance profile. If this is correctly done than in the

transaction AL15 automatically the flag "DB server" will be selected for the related SAPCCMSR agent RFC destination (note #444947).

"The DB flag in the transaction AL15 is only related to the local system."

Monitoring Standalone DB Server using CCMS Agents

http://scn.sap.com/community/netweaver-administrator/blog/2013/12/18/monitoring-standalone-db-server...

But the SAPDBHOST parameter is not used by the SAPCCMSR agent, you can only set the SAPLOCALHOST parameter in the SAPCCMSR agent profile.

Hi Djeane,

You can check all servers via transaction code OS07.,

Hi Srinivasan,

This transaction doesn´t exist in my version SAP ECC 6.06 Netweaver 7.31, but I can reproduce this way;

In the transaction ST06

And I see only Application Server, I´d like to see the Database Server too. But it doesn´t appear in the SAP System. There are two servers one to Application Server e one to Database Server, just appear the application.

I have there are more one example:

The landscape of SAP System 1 Primary Application (old CI), 3 Secondary Application (old DI)  and 1 Database Server. All the application servers appear but database server doesn´t. Look that

ST06
