ABAP Message Server Http Availability in red status

Hi Experts,

We are configuring management dashboard in solman 7.1 for reporting performance and Availability of SAP systems in Landscape. The output on

dashboard graph is very bad (a large section is in red status).I could see that "ABAP Message Server Http Availability" is in completely red (refer screen shot) status for many abap systems. Please let us know how to resolve this.Again in system performance graph we can see red section. Can you plz let us know which parameter does this graph uses to determine performance of system. How can we customize this ie to set the threshold as per our requirement.

Thanks

Aditya Roushan

What metric are you monitoring off of to generate the values in that dashboard?

Hi Billy,

I am using std template for system availability and System performance.I have not customized it so I am not sure which metric it is using.May be it is using LogClass_Availability_SysPercent_ABAP" and

"Rated_Availability_SysPercent_ABAP but I m not sure on this.

Thanks

Looking at the Technical System templates both ABAP 7.00-7.03 & 7.10 and higher both look for /sap/public/ping for the HTTP availability.  In tx SICF do you have this activated?

If this is a Instance template, and Instance Local Http Availability is being used, its still looking to the same /sap/public/ping location.

Do you have ACLs or a firewall that may be blocking the GET requests from SolMan?  From the SolMan system can you pull up a browser and see what the HTTP return value is for this ABAP system, this would tell you if its a infrastructure (acl/firewall) or something in the templates as being the issue.

Hi Billy,

I checked this service  /sap/public/ping is sicf and it is active. Also ACL/Firewall is not blocking Http request. During investigation I could see wily introscope was in error state.i have corrected it but still issue is not resolved .

What happens when you use a browser on SolMan and go to that sap system for /sap/public/ping?

If you right click on the sicf item of ping and test the service does it pull up the web page?

Hi Billy,

As I have told before PING service is working fine when I test the service it gives "Server reached successfully".
