Good afternoon specialists,

Currently, we start using our sellers the functionalities related to visits but until now it has not been possible for us viasualizar the Maps.

We have looked at information in the help documents and forums and till now we've only achieved the following:

  • Create Key to google maps API
  • enter the API key in the system through the creation Mashup

When I enter the API key, I visualize the maps in the first instance but later an error is generated. Please see images.

Based on the above, we would like to consult with you:

1. It is available this service? We saw an entry in the SCN that even this service had ceased to be free.

2. It is possible to use functionalities maps geocalización once activated?

3. When creating the key API if I do with Google is not necessary also to Bing?

Thanks for your cooperation

Hi Oriana,

Both maps (Bing and Google) cannot be activated in the tenant at the same time.

- If you have activated Bing map you need to use Silverlight Client for this functionality.

- If you have activated Google Maps, you need to use HTML5 Client for this functionality.

Both maps activated at the same time will make both not work.

If customer requests the activation key for Google Map:

Customer has to sign legal document with sales team for the activation key (which is Google license). It has to be taken care of by sales and installation team of this customer.

HI , I read your comment and when I'm trying to insert the API KEY in Google Maps I can't do that. I don't know why . You mention the Key of google need to be insert in HTML5 Client but I don't find the place to insert. Can you help with this point ? Because for Bing Maps the local is Mashup Authoring. I inserted the key and the system said Ok your key is saved but when I did refresh and then appears inactive state. Thank for your time Best Regards Cristina Rodrigues

Hi Christina,

if you still need the answer where to insert the Google Maps API Key - it is also in the silverlight ui in APPLICATIONS AND USER MANAGEMENT -> MASHUP AUTHORING.

There you find the standard mashup (SM00078), which is already provided by SAP. Here you have to make sure, that the Google Maps API Key is present. Afterwards, if the mashup is marked inactive, activate the entry and refresh the view - then it should be shown as active with the stored API key.

Best regards!

Hello,

I am seeing that as per the 1411 release, the Google Maps mash up license is not going to work post 2014. So now on our C4C instance the Google Maps integration does not work. Can someone suggest what API we need to use/order from Google in order to get the key and then put it into use.

Hello Vikram,

Raising the incident for this on C4C tenant should be the quicker option to get the correct help from SAP.

Hello Chandan,

SAP Support sorted this out very quickly so I would say that if someone else is also troubled due to this then it is SAP Support who is to be contacted

Can you also share what SAP replied on this and how did they resolved it? It would be put more light on it.

Both in 1411 and 1502 I get the UnauthorizedURLforClientIdMapError message for an unrestricted API key from Google.

After contacting SAP I learned that we need to use an SAP provided API key that is actually valid for 2015.

This key (starts with GME-) works for 1502 without problems.

Hi Swapnil,

Please raise a ticket with us to get the proper key - it works on the Responsive UI apps as well.

Hi Ankan

We need a Google map to show a demo for a prospect, should we raise a ticket too for the reference system?

Yes. Raise an incident even for a demo system.
