Hi,

Could you please let me know if it is possible to create HANA models on active tables of DSO?

Is there any limitation in using this approach?

Best regards,

Sidharth Mishra

Hi,

Yes, but not directly: you need to import the DSO into HANA (an analytic view will be generated). You can start working with this generated view, e.g. adding calculated measures, build further views on top, etc.

Please check SAP Note: 1764251 - Documentation- Importing BW Models in SAP HANA Modeler (and the attachment in it).

With BW 7.40 SP5 you can simply generate the HANA model view from a DSO (InfoCube, master data InfoObject) from within BW via a flag in the DSO maintenance.

Pease check and the links.

Hi Gabor,

Thanks for the reply.

I wanted to confirm about system generated column views in BW on HANA environment.

I read in this blog

that Bex queries use the generated column views for pushing down the calculations.

When are these column views generated?

Is it possible to view these column views in the HANA studio?

Hi Sidharth,

if you have access to the schema of the SAP BW system in the HANA studio you can find column views for DSO and other objects in the folder Column Views. You should enter the name of the SAP BW object in the filter.
