    Divya,

    In very simple terms:

Attribute view - Synonymous to Master data - Has no measures, you can model your Master data with the specific joins

Analytic View - Star schema -> one Fact + 'N' Dimension tables

You can use the links above (provided by Mangesh) as a starting point

Sybase replication - Log based replication, the replication is from data base and not from the application server (like SLT/DS)

SAP_IC Schema is used when you have Information Composer.

Again, these are very high level answers,

You need to be able to go through in detail to understand the information regarding each of the replication technology and Information composer of SAP HANA.

    hi guys,

i have a doubt on HANA modeling ?

Question is once we are creating schema in that we are maintaining tables and apply views like attribute and analytic views etc..but my doubt is suppose we have two users and each user maintaining a schema .one schema having attribute view (by combining more than one table). my required table is exist in other schema .i want to apply views to particular tables exist in both schema with different users....i.e different schema 's share tables and apply joins(calculation views)

    is it possible?

      Hi Divya,

Yes it is possible,we can create the models and access the tables of the other user Schema.

We can create numbers of schemas if you have the system previlege- CREATE_SCHEMA.

    Hi Jyothi

When you are dealing with master data tables than go for attribute views and we can reuse the attribute view.

Analytical view:-single fact table surrounded by multiple related attributes from the data foundation.. We can go for analycal view

in two scenarios we go for analytical views:-

one is bw powered by hana scenario here we can directly use tables and build analytical view..

Native hana scenario here we can use attribute views in logical join and single fact table from data foundation.

Sybase replication server:-please go through below link you will find out the Sybase replication.

    https://www.google.co.in/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=4&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDwQFjADahUKEwj2qb66tsHIAhVFpJQKHWG8DiE&url=https%3A%2F%2Fdocssaptechedhandson.hana.ondemand.com%2FShow%3Faction%3Dgetfile%26docid%3D72_XRLARLKTpO7Blvi-iSFUYSIGdrJW_EA0o_BV3XYE&usg=AFQjCNHTFc7cQQGCN9jRkXIftEtJiCWqSg&sig2=tup7dM5-8C3LBDZtWzC__g&bvm=bv.104819420,d.dGo

    Sap_ic:-

The SAP HANA information composer is a Web application that allows you to upload to and manipulate data on the SAP HANA database. The SAP HANA information composer uses a Java server which interacts with the SAP HANA database. The Java server communicates with the SAP HANA information composer client via HTTP or HTTPS.

The following ports are used by default:

    ● HTTP port 8080

    ● HTTPS port 8443

If HTTPS is used, the SSL certification must be configured by the administrator

. Note The SAP HANA information composer can be configured to use anti-virus software. The SAP HANA information composer client is accessible to users who are assigned the IC_MODELER role.

This role allows users to upload new content into the SAP HANA database and to create physical tables and calculation views. When content is marked as shared, it is accessible from users who are assigned the IC_PUBLIC role.

By default, the physical tables and calculation views are marked as private. This means that they are only visible to the user who created them.

Calculation views are created by the _SYS_REPO user in the _SYS_BIC schema and are visible in the Column Views node of the catalog in the Systems view of the SAP HANA studio.

The physical tables and calculation views can be shared with users who are assigned the IC_PUBLIC role. The IC_PUBLIC role is included in the IC_MODELER role. The created calculation view inherits the analytical privileges of the source data that is being used.

Objects that are based on user data (spreadsheets) have no analytical privileges. The SAP_IC technical user is created during installation.

After installation has completed, SAP_IC is locked.

Note As long as the SAP HANA information composer is in use, the SAP_IC user must not be deleted because otherwise, the role assignments created by this user will also be deleted.

    Regards
