Upgrade management and Solution documentation Help.

Hi Friends,

I would like to configure the Upgrade management and Solution document scenarios in my solman 7.1 SP12 system and test them.

Could some one kindly suggest on this.

At the time of implementation there is a project already created.

How can i proceed from there.

How can i see the existing solution documents avilable in the system.

How can i proceed for upgrade management scenario.

    Hi Chowdary,

    This is very big topic to discuss and create a model.

    But if we speak simply:

    1. When your Implementation project is go-live, you should close it.
    2. After that, create Solution if not already exist and import all business scenarios structure to that Solution.
    3. When Solution is ready and Maintenance project is also recomended you may use it for daily-support things.
    4. For Upgrade, this is depends on what type of upgrade you will do, technical and functional or just technical.
      • For techincal create upgrade project export all Business structure from solution, when you do upgrade system you can use Upgrade Projcet plan structure as a Basis for you Test plan to check everything is working but this will cost people-time. So may be better only check customer things.
      • For Functional and technical you may linke Upgrade roadmap prorvided by SAP here you must make a new test plan and test every scenario / transaction etc...


    Please make it more clear, what do you expect from Upgrade Management in Solman.
