Appraisal document not visible in portal

Hi,

I am trying to understand the concept of Appraisal flow.But unable to understand one logic.

1/ I have created template and released it.Next i released the appraisal document using phap_create to a particular employee. Then from In preparation status it went to In planning status(got message once i clicked on End preparation push button)This is done in ECC. Now what is happening once it is in In planning status,then only i am able to see the Document in Portal.If it is in In preparation status i am not able to see the appraisal doc in Portal.Why does this happen.Pls guide me on this.

2/ If i am trying to release the document for many employees using phap_prepare, i am not able to see the document in Portal. Am i missing any step after this to make it possible. Pls guide me.
