Business Explorer - Critical program error

Hello All,

We just upgrade our SAP BW version from 3.5 to 7.3, and since we do that, we have some errors.

For now, I have an user's issue:

He uses the Business Explorer to execute queries. After the upgrade process, he tested a query in the new BEx version (7.3) and it's worked fine, so he extracted the information and closed the file as normal process.

Some minutes later when he tried to test the same query again, before he had open the query, he received the error message: "A critical program error has occurred. The program will now terminate".

The BEx is terminated and the user can't do anything.

The stranger thing is that all other users can use this same query without problem. This user can open any other queries without problem too... It is like a "personal problem".

He tried to execute this action in another computer but the error still happens.

Someone could help us please?

Thanks,

Hello All,

We couldn't find the reason for this error, but we found a palliative solution.

The user prefers to logon on BEx, SAP and related systems in English (EN) language. So, when the user chose other language, in our case Portuguese (PT), everything worked fine.

The language wasn't the main error, because this query works in English for other users, but for some reason was impacting in this case.

We solve the user problem and this is the most important at this moment.

Thank you all for the contribution.

Hello All,

Just updating this topic.

We try basically everything to solve this problem, but without success:

- Transaction RSRT - Execute+Debug > We try with several types of breakpoints. No log, no report, no error. No matter the options that we select, the same result:

- Verifying the user's authorizations > Compared with other users, everything is ok... The same error.

- Desktop changed > Other computer... The same error.

- User deleted and created again > The same error.

Important points:

- The user can execute other queries;

- The user can execute this query in another interfaces, for example, in Firefox (internet navigator). The query doesn't work directly in SAP or in Business Explorer (no matter the version), but in the Internet Navigator the query works but it isn't functional, because the user doesn't have a option to extract data or save the results;

Do you have other suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Flávio

Hello Flàvio,

It looks like an authorization issue.

The correct role needs to be assigned to his userid.

BASIS or user access team will bve able to solve the problem.

Use someone is [who can access this query] as reference and find out the correct role.

Regards,

Amit

Hello Amit,

This isn't related with authorization. I'm sure about that.

I have been worked with authorizations in the last three years. I moved to BW this year.

All users access this query through 3 roles, including this user. All of them have the same 3 roles (around 12 users). Just one user have this error.

As I said in the beginning of this question, the user executed the query normally once, but since the second access he has this error message.

It's unexplainable!

Hi Flavio,

Pls check SM12 tcode for this user, maybe your query or object are block.

Hello Flávio,

In rsrt use execute + Debug to rn the report from the userid which is having problems. Specify the necessary breakpoints both query runtime and authorization.

This might prove helpful in error analysis. post back your results.

Thanks

Hello Amit,

We tried through RSRT, but the transaction does not identify any error, no matter the selection criteria.

According our guideline (region), we don't have access to execute SM12 for other users, just for ourselves. The user can't have access to this transaction also.

Hello All,

For your information, transaction RSRT doesn't work also.

Here's a print screen of my user. Transaction RSRT works fine. Query opens without problem:

And here's a print screen from the user that have the error. Transaction RSRT works fine, but query doesn't:

Looks like for the user, the query don't executes its first step (fields to fill in). It goes direct to results, as if user had open the query and executed it without put any data, but this isn't the case here.

Hi ,

Please  check the value of the variable and debug the report , check attributes and its values in source system .

Hi,

Variants, reports, attributes, InfoSources, InfoProviders, InfoPackages, transfer rules, transactions, authorizations... Everything is working fine.

All others users can execute the query normally. This user can execute others queries normally... But for some reason, THIS QUERY for THIS USER specifically, don't.

It looks like a stupid error and easy to solve, but nothing that we do solves this error.

Hi,

I understand the problem is only occurring for one user. Are there any changes in this user

when compared to other users because of which the problem is occurring only for this user?

Can you please refer the following SAP KBA Note and check whether it helps you:

1860872 - Report not executable in BEx Analyzer 7x / Client out of Memory

Also, can you please refer the following SAP Note:

147519 - Maintenance strategy / deadlines for SAP GUI

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Flavio,

Sounds like one authorization is not active, please check list authorization with you user and try regenerate.

Hello Francisco,

This user uses the same role that another users. For all others user is working fine, but for this user in specific don't.

The user doesn't have access to this transaction. I'll put it in a role for the user can test and I come back to tell you if worked.
