Background jobs in S&OP On-Premise

Please share your experiences...

My customer would like to move S&OP standard background jobs (OSS notes 1901852)  from S&OP server to 3rd party  job scheduling SW like Control-M for following reasons.

1) It is our customer IT policy to centralize all jobs for operations aspects.

2) Control-M has better alerting mechanism in case of failures...

Please share your experience if your customer is using any 3rd party scheduling software to run S&OP Jobs.... I don't believe there should be any technical limitations to perform this task by job scheduling SW.

Any insights are appreciated...

Hi Krishna,

As discussed, Instead of the standard cron job you can use other tools that can run the corresponding hdbsql commands from a Linux shell. Please note that the actual schedule for the operators is defined within IBP via the Excel plugin, and not in the Linux cron job. This cannot be changed by using something else instead of the standard cron setup.
