SAP PO RFC connectivity issue

Former Member

Hi,

We are on a Process Orchestration setup. We are facing a very peculiar issue with an iflow to BPM scenario. The sender is an RFC and the receiver is BPM.The Function module when triggered from the sender ECC system says that the data is sent successfully to PO.However,we do not see any messages in the SOA monitoring.

We created an RFC sender channel with gateway details of the PO server and maintained a program id.We used the same details in a tcpip connection in ECC.The program id was maintained in the InboundRA adapter as well. However,we could not see any messages in PI for this.

Hence,we changed the details in the sender channel to point to the application server, created a tcpip connection in ECC and registered this program id in ECC.However, this does not seem to work as well.We do not see any data in PI,no errors in sm58 in ECC.

Please could any of you share your thoughts in this.

Thanks and Regards,

Induja

Hi Amit, Induja,

Did you receive any replies / response from SAP on the matter.

We are running into the same issue with sending RFC connection from a third part to PO JAVA single stack. It seems it looking for a ABAP stack which is not the case with PO (NW75) Java only.

Thanks and regards.

Hello,

TCP/IP RFC destination in ECC should have ECC gateway host and service details.

Secondly, did u noticed any dumps in ST22??

Thanks

Hi Amit,

Yes.We tried using the ECC gateway host and service details in the RFC destination. The Sender RFC channel also has the same details as that of the ECC system. This is a java only stack setup.

There are no dumps in st22,no errors in sm58,no incoming message in PI or in the channel logs.

Thanks and Regards,

Hello,

It seems that there is some issue with ur FM. Are u sure ur FM is calling the right RFC destination which u have created in ECC? Debug ur program.

RFC config is a straight forward config, if ur FM is correctly written to call PI then u should see some kind of logs in SM58/RFC sender channel.

Thanks

Hi Amit,

Thanks for your reply. We have changed the RFCs to proxy now and the connectivity seems to be fine.

We do not understand why it does not work for RFCs.We have raised a query to SAP for the same.

Thanks and Regards,
