Assign roles to solman_admin

Hi everyone!

I recently installed Solution Manager 7.1 and performed solman_setup basic configuration and system preparation. Now I want to user maintenance optimizer to upgrade Solution Manager to latest SP. To start maintenance transaction I need to add roles to solman_admin... Roles I need to add are:

SAP_MAINT_OPT_ADMIN

SAP_MAINT_OPT_ADD

SAP_SMWORK_BASIC

SAP_SMWORK_CHANGE_MAN

My question is how do I assing these roles to solman_admin? I am new to basis and I am not sure how to add roles to users. Thanks in advance!

Hi Zeljko,

If you are the administrator, a good practice is to give sap_all profile to solman_admin when doing any activity. This way, you will never be stuck because of lack of authorizations.

Just make sure only you know the password for solman_admin and you remove the authorization once your work is finished.

Hi,

If you know the roles, then you can do this using PFCG tcode.

Give the name of the roles, copy this into a Z* role and generate the authorization profile.

Now add this role to user and press user comparison button to update this to user master profile.

Do goggle to get more on how to create and assign roles to user.

Or, to assign delivered roles to solman_admin, goto solman_setup, in intial setup, where you create user, update the roles to this user.

Or, get the solman security guide and follow the instructions.
