Agentry_70.5.1_Test_Environment not responding in Windows 8

Hi,

After installing the ATE 70.5.1 on Windows 8.1 Enterprise Version 64 bit. On opening that the ATE stops responding before the Login Prompt. Is there any patch to be installed or workaround as this is a showstopper for testing. An early response will be appreciated. The run.pid file under the installed folder has a value 2160.

This has been observed only on Windows 8.1 version. Its working fine in Win 7 machines.

Pls note that Agentry clients are working good on the same Win 8.1 OS.

Thanks.

Please make sure you have C++ run time libraries (32 bit) 2010 and 2012 versions installed.

    • While it doesn't help your right this minute, starting with the SMP 3.0 SDK SP06 release they have enhanced the Agentry Editor to include an ATE as part of the Editor plugin. This will work with a WPF based client and still allow inspection of objects, transactions etc. (no scripting).

    Ashwin,

As proactive support by SAP, we want to find small questions like this and answer it by providing the SAP KBA or note #.

This is fully explained in the SAP KBA article # 2167661 - Agentry Test Environment (ATE) - does not work in Windows Enterprise 8.0 or 8.1.

If you read the article it will tell you what problems, causes and the solution including limitation.

    Hope this helps.
