Elster Interface - Setup advice for 2 companies through PI; looking for problems

We are going to start sending VAT Tax data from 2 different Tax Union to the German Tax Authority through our single PI Instance using the Elster Interface.  Has anyone had experience in setting this up?  We are looking for suggestions on how best to do this.  We want to learn from past issues and avoid re-creating the wheel.

The concerns revolve around setting up PI to properly receive the "OK" message from the the Tax Authority and getting it routed back to the proper ECC system.

AFAIK VAT scenario is synchronous one, so routing back to the proper ECC system should not concern you. If ECC1 is sending a request Tax Authority will respond to that request in a synchronous manner. If ECC2 sends a request same happens.

What could be difficult is setting up certificates as that is required for authentication at Tax Authority. You will have 2 certificates and will probably need to differentiate those via FOTED2(?) not sure though.
