Display problem with detailed navigation in Portal 7.4 with Google Chrome 38

I have display & rendering problems with the detailed navigation in the SAP Enterprise Portal 7.4 with Google Chrome 38:

  1. Hover styles are rendered at a wrong position
  2. Parts of the detailed navigation disappear when unfolding the navigation tree

Please see the following comparison between IE 10 and Chrome 38:

IE 10

Chrme 38

Dark blue background hover effect is in line with the node text:

Dark blue background hover effect is shifted upwards and not in line with the node text:

Lowest node just "moves downwards" when unfolding others and is fully visible:

Initially, all is visible:

Lowest node starts to "disappear" when unfolding the navigation structure:

Now, it is fully gone when unfolding even more nodes:

Has anybody similar problems or any solutions for this problem?

    Hi Philipp

Regarding your issue related to hovering over DTN in Chrome, kindly refer to the below Note

2067358 - In Chrome hovering on the AFP Detailed navigation (DTN) is displayed in offset

The note deals with the same issue as what you are facing. Refer to the solution part of it and apply the latest patches or update your SP as per your current portal version.

    Hi Philipp,

this is a bad issue ... we fought with this behaviour several weeks without any help on our external experts.

Microsoft changes the HTML processing on any IE version up to IE5, 8, 9 and 10.

On IE11 Microsoft decided to introduce a new modus called the IE enterprise mode.

This is a special server setting on you domain. Then you can setup by the administrators, that

pages from the SAP Netweaver Portal servers are always running in IE9 mode for example.

Enterprise mode can be detected on the blue icon with the buildings address bar:

If you are interested in the details I recommend you to check these SAP notes:

Have also a look to following articles:

Our solution was .. and my recommendation to you:

    - update your SAP Netweaver portal to 7.31 or 7.40 on the latest patch level

    - update your browser to run IE Enterprise mode

P.S. I will never understand why there is not more help on this "feature" by SAP AG.

Administrators are alone on this. Same von zoom behaviour on SAP note 1530264

P.S.2 please rate if this was helpful ...
