char relationship in IP through rsplan

We are facing issue in creating char relationship through RSPLAN transaction for material and profit center. The reason being profit center could not be an attribute of material as the source is different from both of the info-objects, also controlling area is a compounding attribute of profit center.Info-objects we are using is : /ERP/MATERIAL& /ERP/PROFTCTR

We have observed the 3 available options in RSPLAN to create any char relationship.

  1. Through attribute.
  2. Through DSO.
  3. Through exit.

Tried options:

Option 1: We have tried for attribute option but did not get any success reason being both the info-objects source is different, even if we create a DB view between the 2 source i.e material no from MARA and profit center from MARC ,we cannot get source field for controlling area which is compounding attribute of profit center.

Option 2: we are tried in creating a custom HANA view but no success as we could not identified the source field for controlling area. Tables chosen were MARA & MARC .

Analyzing further we wish to try DSO option by using direct update but as this direct DSO needs to be feed by APD , and require loading through APD ,this is not the solution we are looking for, requirement is so that we should get the data on fly. so this option is not feasible.

    Hi Mukesh,

You can also try a Write Optimized DSO which is supported as a source in the Char rel of type - DSO. The easiest way to do this is load the WO DSO from a flat file with your required data and then create a Char rel based on this. Char rel of type DSO is best alternative to both attr and hierarchy type where in it is also easily configurable and immedidately usable.

    Hi Balajee,

Our requirement is real time data, even right -optimized DSO require loading ,so this option is ruled out.

then you need to implement your own exit for it
