Time sheet entry against company

Hi,

As per help document, The Time Sheet provides functions for recording project confirmations and the various types of work and absences from work defined in your company. External service agents can confirm time worked on projects and project tasks, while employees and their line managers can record project-based work, including project tasks performed for partner companies, and non-project-based work.

It means that business user has to enter the time against projects and project task.

I don't have project management in scope, so don't want to use time submission against projects.

Can I manage to enter normal time hours against the company (not any other object or assignment)?

Thanks in advance

Govind Sharma

Hi all,

My requirement is related to enhancement of the same functionality and screen function,

I required a time validation check (in hour's) while submitting the time sheet.Suppose I have released PO to SA to submit there times on an IC project and that resource only have 100 hours assigned to punch via PO and accidentally he has punched more than 100 hours, right now system doesn't have any hard check for this.

Could anyone suggest me any link or reading material to achieve this functionality , I have initiated it through BADI using "Validation time " enhancement option but what to do next don't know.

Please suggest , Thanks in Advance.

Hi Ashish,

Whenever you are creating PO for SA,He/She can book only 100 hours for the respected project.

Accordingly SA can book time sheet for the work is done and Goods and Service Confirmation will post in system for the same no of hours.  Whenever SA is crossing the 100 hours there should be an error message saying that PO Exceed hours.

System will not allow to release the time sheet in this case.

Hope this is helpful.

Thanks,

Nitin

Hi Ashish,

I dont see any solution to Restrict the employee to submit overtime, But there is an information field which will show what is planned hours, actual hours and remaining hours to the employee while employee submitting the time sheet.

find below screenshot:

Dear Govind,

Business user can also enter time against non-project based work. In means, employee can enter time against activities like meetings, seminars etc., You can also create customer specific activities in fine-tuning > Activity categories. Project management need not be scoped for this but you make sure that you enable Activity management in scoping.

Is this what you are looking for ?

Thanks

Hi Govind,

As far as I know in the task field we can only find project tasks. And i just want to understand what kind of expenses you want to book from time sheet screen because if an employee want to book any expenses he can book through expense report.

Thanks

Dear Govind,

You can not book expense through time sheet. You can use the option of expense report for raising expense. While doing this you can assign these expense to project task, which is showing on your time sheet. You can use time sheet for booking employees time on project task & various activity.

I hope this will be helpful.

Thanks,

Nitin
