New PO doc type creation/Screen layout def/Enjoy fields/material field/ impossible to take my new customizing into account

Hello All,

I currently face an issue in MM with the enjoy fields of the Screen Layout at Document Level definition.

Please find below the issue description and the explanation of what I did :

Customizing :
> Creation of a new PO doc type : Materials Management/ Purchasing/ Purchase Order/Define Document Types
> Customizing on Enjoy fields for material in the screen layout : Materials Management/ Purchasing/ Purchase Order /Define Screen Layout at Document Level : ENJOY FIELDS

1/ My first customizing
1.1 Materials Management/ Purchasing/ Purchase Order/Define Document Types
I have created a new document type ZDIV and assigned to it the field selection key ZBS.
1.2 Materials Management/ Purchasing/ Purchase Order /Define Screen Layout at Document Level : ENJOY FIELDS
For the field selection ZBS (table T162) I have customized the enjoy fields this way for the material field (I wanted the material field to be mandatory in the new document ZDIV)

I released my OT and transport it to the qualification environment to test it

2/ Second customizing
After my first test in the qualification environment, I decided to replace the Reqd.entry  by the optional entry for the Material field in ENJOY FIELDS, and I have transported my new customizing in the qualification system. But despite of my new customizing, the "material status" remains the same in my new document type ZDIV, i.e. the material field remains mandatory in the purchase order ! (instead of optionnal)

Hi,

check setting directly from SPRO in quality system as suggested by Mr. Dev .

If not move then you can change and create new separate TR for this change and move to quality then test same.

Hello,

Here is the customizing both in development and quality environment.

Despite of my customizing, i.e. move from required entry to optional entry, it does not work, neither in development system nor in the quality system

I wonder if I must remove the assignment between ZDIV and ZBS because on my first customizing, I customized a  required entry for material field (and the system may have kept the old customizing for the key ZDIV - ZBS ?) and only after having transported my TO to quality, I made a new customizing to move the material field from required to optional

Have you checked other field selection key like as ME21N / AKTH / PT0F ?

The ME21N AKTH PTOF are all customized on OPTIONAL for the entries in ENJOY fields

I made some try in the customizing and move the material field to HIDDEN and DISPLAY and it works well. But, each time I fill OPTIONAL in the customizing for material in enjoy fields, it does not work ??

OMG... What happened to myself.. I didn't notice that you are trying to set the material field as optional..

It is not possible to make the field optional for Purchase order... Material is a mandatory field for PO creation with blank account assignment.

Can you create a PO without material and without account assignment category ?

Either you need to enter account assignment category or you need to enter material..

It is standard behavior..

Yes, in my PO I fill either a material or a account assignment type F (internal order) with a G/L account an internal order and a cost center .

Hello,

I fixed the issue this way : I saw that the item category  assigned to ZDIV was supposed to have a GR and then, suppose to have a material code. That's why, I assigned a second item category with no GR and it works well now.

The last issue I face, is this one : when I create my PO ZDIV, the system in ME21N determines by default the item category "blank" instead of X or Y

Do you know how customize X or Y by default ?

I know that it is possible to set up the item category by default in the ME21N, but can I do this with the customizing ?

Hi,

   There is no configuration option to set the default item category in PO. You may maintain it at personal settings in ME21N.

   Another option would be transaction variant. Create a transaction variant for ME21N in SHD0 transaction. While creating, enter the required item category and maintain the "with content" flag for the field in the transaction variant.

Go to your QI system, In path Define Screen Layout at Document Level, can you see the tick option for material as option entry for the field selection ZBS ?

Check The field selection ZBS is assigned to document type ZDIV.

Check the same material field for the other field selection key as ME21N / AKTH.
