Hi,
In C4C we have a single work center for customers wherein we can create accounts. The accounts can be either prospects or customers. We have a requirement where some users should only be allowed to create and edit prospects. They should not be allowed to create and edit customers. We can make the default role as prospect, which will not allow them to create customers. However how do we achieve the second part of the reqiurement of editing only prospects. Display access should be same for both.
Hello Prajit,
I dont think so via Business Role ->Field and Action facet. You can only restrict 'Account View' within 'Access Restrictions' facet base on various Restriction Rules(but again this will not be different for Account and Prospects).
If this answer, please close this scn post.Maybe you can address your requirement with proper Business Case via Idea Forum.

Hi Ankush,
You are right. That is the option I tried and will not fulfill the requirement. Is there any other way to restrict the editing of accounts with role as customers.

Hello Prajit,
Irrespective of your 'New Account' is Customer or Prospects ,there is only one Business Context as 'Account' for Action 'Create' under :Applicationand User Management work center->Business Role->Edit Role->Go to facet 'Fields and Actions'.
=>Here when you click on 'Add Row' under section "Business Action Restrictions", you can only see Business Context as 'Account' and
the Action as 'Create'.
=>If you disable this ,further when you click on 'New Account' (weather Prospect been check/uncheck) ,you get error as 'You are not authorized'.
Hope this answer your question.
