Product / Version: SAP Crystal Reports 2013

Issue: Fatal Error:

Fatal Error: At least one port in the range 4520-4539 must be open for the installation to proceed. Please ensure that no application or firewall is blocking this range.

Error fires when I try to install Crystal Reports by Double-Clicking the Setup.exe file located at:C:\Users\Dr. Evers\Downloads\51046782\DATA_UNITS\CrystalReports\setup.exe

I have:

1. disabled all virus software

2. opened ports 4520-4539

3. disabled windows firewall

4. downloaded Crystal Reports (build: 51046782) from a link sent to me by an SAP support person

5. contacted that person to tell them that the install (using 51046782) still throws the same error

6. was told that I had to post this issue on this forum (thus doing so now) and then wait 24 hrs.

If anyone knows how to resolve this, please let me know; if not, will SAP support please contact me after the required 24hrs has elapsed.   This exact issue was posted in 2013 but was never answered.

Thank you,

Hi,

Try copying the CR package onto your local hard drive and then right click on the setup.exe and run as Administrator.

Thanks,

Hi DJ,

I get exactly the same issue and errors.  However, if I run as administrator I still get the same error.  Do you have any suggestions as to how I can resolve the problem?

I tried extracting the zip download to a separate folder but I get the same error that Kevin Evers reports, so it's not related to whether the zip file is unloaded to another folder for install.

Also, if it helps, I have managed to reinstall SAP GUI 7.3, and SAP Lumira today with no issues. I tried to insall CRDD 2011 which didn't complete fully and terminated abnormally. So I thought I'd go for CRDD2013 instead. At the moment I can't seem to get either to install fully. The only change to my laptop is an upgrade to a solid state hard drive and some extra memory.

Mt firewall is switched off too.

I think the solution requires that the Unpacking of the zip file is done to the C:\ root level of the drive, e.g. c:\CRDD_2013 and then run.  This seems to work.

Hi James

There is a number of KBA that may help (with fingers crossed). Please see the following:

1638102 - Crystal Reports 2011 Installation best practices

The above KBA will apply to CR 2013.

1909633 - Error: Installation cannot proceed, when attempting to install SAP Crystal Reports 2013
