SMD_BI_RFC does not exist

Hello SAP experts,

I am configuring the BW reporting for our itsm. While checking the Interactive Reporting Configuration Wizard (/crmbw/config_wizard), I got an error

with user SMD_BI_RFC which was created by Solman admin. I have already changed the user type from system to service and have added roles below.

sap_bi_callback

sap_bi_e2e

sap_bw_ccms_reporting

sap_bw_ccms_setup

sap_pi_ccms_setup

sap_sm_basic_settings

sap_sm_bi_esr_extractor

sap_sm_bw_esr

sap_sm_bw_s_rfcacl

sap_sm_s_rfcacl

I have also checked the rfc connection test and authorization test and both are working.

Can you let me know what's missing?

Thanks!

Hi all,

I have resolved the issue by adding more BI/rfc related roles.

hello,

We are in Solman 7.1 SP08. We copied the standard roles to Z role. Below is the screenshot of the error message when we run /n/crmbw/config_wizard.

Thanks!

Do you have 2 different clients ? One for config and other for BI ?

Have you checked the user exist in correct client ?

Hi,

We have client 001 for our SolMan DEV and 950 for the BI client.

The user was created in BI client. If I do an su01, the user exists.

I also tried creating the user in Solman DEV but still the same issue.

Is the failing process within SAP GUI or a work center?

SAP GUI you should be able to issue a SU53 and see the auth failure, a work center scenario might require tracing on HTTP to find the correct object.

Also keep in mind that when it comes to ITSM, that resides on the CRM part of SolMan and might require a business role which is different from technical roles.

HI BIlly,

I only found the error in /crmbw/config_wizard. The config wizard only display all messages, warnings and error. SU53 will not be useful. I already tried st01 but it is also not useful.

What business roles are mapped to the technical roles?

I'm having an issue with a ChaRM setup right now, I have all the technical auths but the CRM part of SolMan keeps informing me that I am not assigned to a business role.
