R/3 Source system creation error in BW 7.0

Hi All,

We have BW 7.0 Rampup version installed at our end (SAP Netweaver 2004s SP4 with BI Content 7.02). I am trying to connect R/3 source system in BW through RSA1>Modelling>Source System.

I have defined an RFC destination in BW system for R/3 (Ver 4.7). There are two test for RFC Destination. One is Connection test and the other one is Authorization Check test. When i run the test through SM59 on BW server, both the test are successful. The Logon user used is ALEREMOTE user created on R/3 system and has authorization for RFC extraction, RFC basis,SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW.

When i create the source system, I use the above created RFC destination. The Password for the ALEREMOTE user for the source system as well as the BW system is entered. When i hit enter, it gives me the logon screen of R/3 . When i login into R/3 system thru this screen it gives error "RFC Logon failed. Check connection".

When the above login screen appears, it automatically creates an RFC destination in R/3 system for BW server. The Logon user used is ALEREMOTE user created on BW system and has authorization for RFC extraction, RFC basis,SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW.When i test this RFC destination in R/3 system, the connection test is successful but the Authorization check test does not succeed. It says " Name or Password Incorrect". However the logon data in RFC (User ALEREMOTE and its password) are correct. I am able to login to BW with this user.

In other words i am able to connect to R/3 system thru BW but the opposite is not possible due to some Authorization error.

In BW in RSA1 -->System --> Global settings , i have maintained the BW ALE user as "ALEREMOTE" (i,e in screen RSADMINA).

Please let me know in case anyone has faced this problem.

Another issue we faced in this version is that we are not able to do Client copy.

Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,

This is due to new password policy please keep the passwords of ALEREMOTE and (RSADMINA user id ) all in CAPITAL Letters. it will solve your issue as it worked for us. as if u give password of this user in small letters when u connect to release less than 7.0 that system will convert it into capital letters and when connecting back to the BI 7.0 it will not allow as there it is case sensitive and password is small letters and while connecting it will try to connect with Capital letters passwords.

    Cheers..!!!

    Thanks a lot
