Problem connecting to MaxDB with Python 2.7

Dear all,

In the past it was easy to connect from a linux server to a MaxDB SAP server via Python / sdb.dbapi. With the new version of python 2.7 this not longer possible since the software is not longer available or incompatible.

Is there some detailed information for this topic available? Where can I find an actual download of the library?

There is an archived discussion on that topic, but it is closed without an solution. But there was a hint, that the software is internally available.

Maybe there is another solution like ODBC? We have tried this, but we did not get it running (wrong DSN? Lib? Permissions?).

Any help is welcome.

Thanks for your help. I have been ill last week, so I have started the tests with my colleagues today.

Download was successful and the inclusion into Python 2.7 was also possible so far.

I will report the result of the connection to MaxDB the next days here in the forum.
