Lumira Timeout connecting to ESRI

Former Member

Hi,

I am trying to use GEO Map features of SAP Predictive Analysis\Lumira. I have a user id and pwd which i got from my 30 day free trail of ESRI.

I have used it in the preferences GEO Map service section. After that when i tried to use the Geo Map under Geo Charts i am getting a timeout error instead of seeing the ESRI map.

any ideas why..??

Regards,Sai

Something to try:

1. Verify that you can get to the following URL in your web browser: https://www.arcgis.com/sharing/generateToken

This is the URL that Lumira connects to in order to initiate the logon workflow. If you cannot reach it in your web browser, Lumira likely won't be able to reach it.

2. Now check your web browser's proxy settings, and then make sure you have the same proxy settings in Lumira (under File > Preferences > Network).

If at this point you had to enable or change the Lumira proxy settings, click Done in the Preferences dialog box and restart Lumira.

3. Also double-check the credentials you typed in Lumira under File > Preferences > Geo Map Service. The Esri ArcGIS Online service treats not only the Password but also the User Name as case-sensitive.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the detailed procedure.

This is working for me now.

Using SAP VPN, the network settings that are working are the following:

  • Proxy Server: ticked
  • HTTP Proxy Server: proxy
  • HTTP Proxy Port : 8080.

Best regards,

Antoine

Hi ,

I am still having the issue , i got proxy name and port from network people and used it.

when i select Geo Map i am not seeing any ERSI maps , just seeing an empty screen.

Before i put proxy settings i used to get a timeout error,  now i am not getting the error but not seeing the map either.

Hi Saikrishan,

what do you mean, change the proxy settings? Which setting is correct? Manuel or system proxy or no proxy?

Please advice because I have the same **** and cant get out of it.

I have experienced that as well. Is your proxy setting on? Should it be? Not sure what's right for your environment.

You may have to try this a few more times.

Hi all,

I have the same problem. Connected through VPN, set the proxy on, port 8080. I get a timeout, and do not know how to fix it.
