Dear all,
I am currently working on a report on BO XI 4.1.
Starting from a table with 3 columns, I want to end with a graph bars with only one variable:
- Name (dimension)--> Hided (it is ok, only have to select not visible as for axis value)
- Variable 1 (numbers) --> Hided (I can not manage to do it)
- Variable 2 (numbers) --> only bars to be displayed
I can not simply delete Variable 1 because a sort is made on these values... (Variable 2 are sorted according to Variable 1 figures)
I tried by clicking on the graph and then "assign data" but the option "hide" can not be ticked (see screenshot below)....
It seems that values can no be hidden....
If anyone has an idea on how to manage this I am interested.
I can send other screenshots if needed.
Thank you,
Hello,
You can hide only dimensions, measures and measure variables you cannot hide.
You requirement is not clear completely. Plant name you want to hide? I understand that you want to hide one variable which you have added only for the purpose of sorting the displayed measure value.
Try defining the number variable to be hidden as a dimension number. Include it in table and sort based on that variable. convert to graph and hide the dimension number. See if you are getting expected result.

Plant name is indeed hidden but there is no issues as it refers to the category axis of the graph. I just untick "visible".
Your understanding is correct.
I will try your suggestion...the only thing I am affraid of is that it is used for other tables as well. I do not know the impact on changing a value to a dimension.
To give more details, I did an example of what I would like to obtain on BO. Please see below.
I have a table in the center with figures and 2 graphs on extremities.
To obtain this on Webi I created three tables and converted 2 into graphs.
A sort is made on "YTD" column and the 3 table/graphs need to follow this sort.
As it is 3 different tables, I put this "YTD" Variable in the 3 tables and made the same sort for the 3 of them.
Performance graph : no problem on the sort as the bars are the YTD figures.
Table in the middle : no problem on the sort as the YTD column appears
Vs prior year column: it is created from a table with 3 columns --> Name, YTD and YTD vs 2012. The graph bars refer to "YTD vs 2012" and the sort is made on "YTD". here is my problem. In Webi, I do not know how to hide this "YTD" column"
I do not know if it is clear or not....a bit hard to explain writing...
Hello Audrey,
I guess what you are trying is Micro charts in table. these graphs and table are need to be shown as a single object in report? If so I think we can go for a better solution, rather than going for placing table and charts side by side.
Let me know if my understanding is correct.

Yes exactly, you are right.
The 2 charts and the tables are related together. Especially as there is a sort made on this YTD variable which need to "impact" both graphs and table in the same time.
So that I have correct figures corresponding to each "Names".
Same if I want to do a filter on a name for example. Then the filter should impact both graphs and table.
Hello,
I don't know if you have any formatting issues because of relatively placing charts and table together.
What I meant is a workaround to show chart and table together like a scorecard as below.
Please see something like this can be a better solution in your scenario. If you already got solution, please close the thread as per SCN norms.

Hello Audrey,
If your current solution looks fine and no formatting issues, I think you can go ahead with that. Above one is also a work around which also need variables to be created to achieve this. You can have a look at the below link where this work around is mentioned.
Please let me know if you need any clarification on how to achieve this.
