Hello All,

We are planning to implement shopping cart functionality and wanted to check on the following:

  1. Can we use this standalone with ERP or is SRM mandatory ?
  2. If it can be used standalone with ERP, can the "catalog" function work over Material Master record ?
  3. If SRM is mandatory for catalog, can we still use it by having a simple description search over Material Master ?
  4. For ERP standalone deployments, do we need any search engine like TREX ?
  5. Does it support services ?
  6. On approval does it create a PR or can it create a PO based on an existing contract as well ?

There were some threads on the functionality not being stable, would be great to get some feedback.

Regards,

Parag.

Hello Parag,

1. Can we use this standalone with ERP or is SRM mandatory ?

It is designed to be used as a part of ECC.

SRM is not needed in fact it is a different solution i dont imagine a scenario where both are implemented.

2. If it can be used standalone with ERP, can the "catalog" function work over Material Master record ?

the shopping carts can be created using the material master directly (a simple search of material text) or through catalog (MDM). catalogs can also refer to material master.

3. If SRM is mandatory for catalog, can we still use it by having a simple description search over Material Master ?

N/A.

4. For ERP standalone deployments, do we need any search engine like TREX ?

No.

5. Does it support services ?

it does not support services. only materials (with material master or free text).

6. On approval does it create a PR or can it create a PO based on an existing contract as well ?

the standard rule defined is that on aproval,

if the requested material has available stock then a reservation is created,

if there is no availability a PReq is created.

if s a valid source exist (inforec, contract, sourcelist,..) the PReq is assigned and could then be processed with ME59N.

((This rule can be modified so that a PO is created if requirements are met)).

regarding stability, based on my experience it is not stable enough a lot of work and testing was required. it is not as plug and play as it should yet.

Regards,

Francisco.-

Hi,

Can we use this standalone with ERP or is SRM mandatory ?

Shopping cart is SRM Functionality, can be used standalone or with ERP

If it can be used standalone with ERP, can the "catalog" function work over Material Master record ?

CCM Catalog content management is a seperate functionality in SRM

If SRM is mandatory for catalog, can we still use it by having a simple description search over Material Master ?

CCM has inbuilt description search

For ERP standalone deployments, do we need any search engine like TREX ?

In valid Question with above answers

Does it support services ?

Shopping cart functionality supports services

On approval does it create a PR or can it create a PO based on an existing contract as well ?

It depends on the SRM deployment scenario
